Kangaroo Island day 2
With an earlyish start and a tea/coffee in hand, we left Vivonne Bay for Seal Bay.
We leisurely strolled along the board walk taking in the stunning views. We timed it well, we were the only ones there and blessed to watch 2 Lion Seal pups playing for about half an hour. They wrestled each other on the edge of the surf without a care in the world. There were quite a few older Lion seals sunning themselves on the beach.
After breakfast we went to “Little Sahara”, a massive sand dune. We thought it would be close to the beach, but was far from it.
Then it was off to Flinders Chase, a national park at the western end of the island. Here we visited Weirs Cove, the Cap du Couedic lighthouse, The Admirals Arch and the Remarkable Rocks. On the way there we passed through areas where the bush fires destroyed the bush and natural habitat in 2020. There has been a lot of regrowth but the damage is still very obvious.
We stayed the night at Western KI Caravan Park, where we walked among some kangaroos, two with Joeys, one of whom was very boisterous running wild and also saw a Koala eating up a tree.
Another lovely day.
