Kangaroo Island day 4
31st May 2022
This morning we woke early to the sound of surf and birds chirping. As the sun was shining we decided to hit the road for George’s Castle which Brian had stumbled upon on the map… OMG. What a surprise we had. It was like a fairy tale Castle made for a film set. As we drove towards the entrance there was a pirate’s boat on the left and a Viking ship on the right. The entrance was full of trinkets just like Aladdin’s cave and the same for the garden and each building. Beverley was in seventh heaven with the unicorns 🦄, dragons 🐉 and witches giving a truly magical feel. It’s amazing what you can create when you allow your imagination to run free.
We later googled the owner George Turner who is apparently a 3rd generation retired islander the Castle and grounds Re his hobby for all visitors and locals to the island to enjoy. There are fairy lights everywhere so we know it would look incredible at night. We would love to have a themed party there.
We left on a high with hearts full of joy.
For Kingscote campsite for a working bee day as rain and bitterly cold wind have stopped play.
At reception, the first time ever even online any where around the world we had to physically fill out paperwork with all our personal details. We think the last time we did this was in hotels in Italy many years ago.
