Adelaide
5th June – 7th June 2022
The rain was pouring and the wind was howling however, it didn´t dampen our spirits, as we stopped for our own safety at various vantage points along the coast enjoying the raging seas. Hey it´s winter😊
In-between these downpours we did manage to have brunch at The Promenade Restaurant, Glenelg.
Beverley was delighted with her vegan salad bowl and Brian chose a hearty full bacon and eggs brekky.
The view of the sea was great.
On our drive towards our friend’s home in Seaford, we saw a line of people wearing bright neon vests fishing from the entire long pier. Apparently this is the trendy thing to do now. The view from their home was magnificent as was their hospitality.
The following day we ventured into the City and once again enjoyed playing tourists in-between showers.
We were amazed to see hundreds of school girls playing netball in the jam packed parks surrounding the city.
We strolled around the Botanical Gardens, which is a must to see, especially Murdock Avenue which is lined by ginormous Morten Bay fig trees.
Also, the Art Gallery of South Australia. It had a large diversity of paintings and sculptures.
We had a cuppa at the famous Rundal Mall opposite the big balls.
This was the direction Bev was given to find a café by a dynamic lady she´s going to interview.
Yes, it is possible to still work whilst traveling.
She records the podcasts in Abbey our lovely camper.
The mall actually sported lots of sculptures. It was funny seeing big pigs scoffing in bins and much more.
The city was a buzz with buskers singing or dancing.
Lots of murals everywhere we looked.
Both ends of the town very different.
One seemed to be very trendy, flash restaurants and shops, and the other the usual run-of-the-mill stuff.
We checked out a museum and a couple more galleries
We are blessed that dear Abbey campervan fits in most city parking spots.
